KDP 70% royalty: the Amazon.com price range
For eligible Kindle ebooks sold on Amazon.com, the 70% royalty option currently applies from $2.99 to $12.99. The upper limit changed in July 2026.

Do not confuse list price with money received
The 70% rate is applied after applicable tax and delivery costs. A larger ebook file can therefore reduce the royalty per sale. Before choosing a price, enter both the price and approximate file size in the KDP royalty calculator.
For example, a book can remain in the 70% band but still produce less contribution than expected if its delivery cost is high or paid advertising consumes the margin.
